& conditions

The following are the terms of trade of “NZONE Skydive” (“NZONE”).

Acceptance of Booking Terms and Conditions: Confirmation of a booking and authorisation of payment indicates acceptance of these booking terms and conditions. You also agree to further indemnify NZONE, its associate companies, directors and associates against any risk or action related to your participation in your skydive.

Making a Reservation for Others: If you have made a tandem skydive reservation on behalf of others, you will be considered by the NZONE Reservations team as the ‘Group Organiser’ and it is your responsibility to ensure all members of the group are informed and aware of NZONE’s Booking Terms & Conditions. Group Organisers are responsible for providing us with the names of all individuals in their group, who wish to tandem skydive together. Last-minute additions to group bookings are required to pay in full at the time of the booking. While NZONE endeavours to assign groups in the same load, NZONE reserves the right to change group configurations where necessary due to operational requirements. No refunds will be made available when NZONE changes the group configuration.

Availability of Jump Dates & Time Slots: All jump dates and times are subject to availability. Always check availability and days of operation either online or with the NZONE reservations team, prior to confirming a booking on behalf of the customer.

Location & Duration of a Tandem Skydive: Note that all bookings are given an ‘arrival/check-in’ time only. Please note this is not a skydive ‘jump’ time. Whilst NZONE endeavours to complete an individual’s tandem skydive within 3-3.30 hours of arrival, NZONE advises arriving with no time constraints and customers should plan for this to be a whole day’s activity. As safety is NZONE’s main concern, factors such as wind, cloud, rain, thermal turbulence and other factors such as air traffic can affect the time it takes to complete the skydive activity. Weather can change for better or worse in minutes, and customers will be unable to skydive unless they are at NZONE’s Drop Zone. Customers at NZONE will take off and land at the same location. The location of the landing site for each parachute drop may vary slightly depending on weather conditions, with the focus being on customer safety. Customers must remain with their Tandem Master and listen to their instructions as landing areas may present additional hazards such as wind direction or local wildlife. Refunds or compensation will not be made if a spectator does not witness a landing.

Personal Identification: Make sure that you and everyone in your group have a valid government-issued photo ID on arrival at the drop zone on the day of your skydive.

Age Requirements: By law, the minimum age to tandem skydive in New Zealand is 6 years of age and must have parental or legal guardian consent. If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present at the drop zone on the day of the skydive. If a parent or legal guardian is not present, the customer must immediately notify a member of staff at the drop zone, who will arrange for the correct documents of consent to be sent and signed prior to skydiving.

Please note: Maximum altitude for any person Skydiving who is 12 years and under is 9000ft.

Children on bus transfers: We can only guarantee a transfer for the person skydiving. We can transport children if they are safely able to wear a safety belt and if space is available. New Zealand law does not permit us to carry infants or baby carriers on our buses.

Weight and Height RequirementsWeight is an important factor in Skydiving and Aviation. It affects aircraft weights and balances, fuel allowances, climb rates and equipment maintenance. Once at the drop zone, all customers are subject to a weight assessment by a Tandem Master. Click for more information and FAQs.

If a customer weighs over 95kgs/209 pounds, our Reservations team must be notified prior to the jump date.

Customers weighing over 110kgs/220 pounds, will require an additional assessment by our Drop Zone Safety Officer or Tandem Master due to restrictions to the harness size, weather conditions and safety reasons.

Note that weight cut-off limits apply and vary by drop zone and by day. At most drop zones, the maximum limit is 110-115kgs. Customers weighing over 110kgs may be able to jump however this is subject to the availability of qualified tandem masters.

Minimum weight to Skydive with NZONE is 40kg/88 pounds, this is a safety requirement.

Minimum height to Skydive is 120cm’s, this is a safety requirement.

Medical Conditions: NZONE must be notified prior to the jump date of any pre-existing or existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses. You will also be asked when you check in and may require an assessment from our Safety Officer. Medical conditions which could affect the customer’s safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure customers are fit to skydive. If required, bring a medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive. Please advise NZONE if you are taking prescription medication. It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms or blocked sinuses on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump, and we urge you to proceed with caution.

Consumption of Alcohol or ‘Recreational’ Drugs: No alcohol or “recreational” drugs are to be consumed within 8 hours prior to the scheduled skydive jump time. For the safety of all customers and staff, NZONE reserves the right to refuse customers who are suspected of being intoxicated or having impaired judgment, and this does not constitute a claim for a refund.

Restrictions for Scuba Diving: Due to medical restrictions, you must not scuba dive within 24 hours of the scheduled skydive jump time.

Restrictions on Personal Electronic Equipment: For the safety of all customers and in accordance with skydive regulations, the use of all electronic devices, including personal camera and video equipment is not permitted on the aircraft or at any time during the jump.

Acknowledgement of Risk: In undertaking this activity you need to be aware and understand that there is an element of risk involved. Parachuting and Skydiving activities are potentially dangerous and injuries and fatalities can and do occur. Not all risk can be foreseen, prepared for or avoided to the extent that even if the parachute equipment is operated correctly and packed and assembled correctly you may still be injured or killed.

Purchasing Photos and Videos:  Whilst it is not mandatory to book a video or photographs, it is advisable, as on some occasions a late change of mind may result in disappointment. Video and photos are subject to availability on the day of travel. If you have purchased a video package through NZONE, we endeavor to get this package to you within 24hrs. Your acceptance of the video on the day will be deemed as your approval of it being in full working order. No refunds will be made available after your departure from our offices for those videos that are considered not to be in full working order. Please be advised that should there be any technical issues relating to camera/dubbing equipment, no refunds can be made for the individual skydive as the filming and skydive are two separate products. If we are unable to provide you with the skydive video or photo product due to technical issues a refund for the video or photo product purchased will be issued. If only a portion of your video or photo product fails you will be issued with a refund for the balance of the amount paid less the value of the product actually received.

Copyright Photos and Videos: Videos and photographs purchased through NZONE remain the copyright of the videographer who took the footage and they own and retain the right to the footage and photographs. A licence agreement exists between NZONE and the respective videographer who took the respective footage. Such footage may be used by NZONE for company marketing purposes and reproduction of videos sold and may only be used or reproduced by the purchaser or recipient for private or domestic purposes and must not be used for any commercial purpose, including promotion of any supplier or any supplier’s products or services without the videographer’s and NZONE’s prior permission. Should you not want any of your footage or photographs uploaded to NZONE social media platforms, or used in company marketing, it is your responsibility to advise our NZONE staff prior to your jump.

Group Discount Policy:  Group discounts may apply to customers who book 10 or more customers together for direct bookings. Click here for more information. If customers originally book as a group and receive a group discount and then they choose to split up the group, cancel or amend dates, then group members will no longer be entitled to the group discount. Group discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

NZONE Changes to Product & Pricing: NZONE reserves the right to change any pricing, special offers, products and packages without notice.

Payment Policy: Full prepayment is required at the time of booking for all direct bookings. Full payment is required unless through an agent who has agreed to our terms and conditions.

Cancellations within 24 hrs of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Notice of a cancellation must be provided by email to NZONE Reservations. Any amendment to the jump date or time is at the discretion of NZONE and may incur fees.

A booking may be rescheduled any number of times up until 24hrs prior to departure, however the booking will only remain valid for a period of 12 months from the original departure. After this date, all payments will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given. If Guests change their mind within the cancellation period, all payments will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given should they fail to go through with a skydive or decide to change to a different skydive product of lesser value.

Changes by NZONE to a Confirmed Skydive: To ensure the highest standards are maintained, NZONE reserves the right to reschedule or alter a tandem skydive with no prior notification. These changes do not constitute a claim for a refund and include changes to the type of aircraft used, drop zone, check-in time, jump time, number of participants in a plane, altitude reached, duration of free fall and location. Providing customers with a 100% safe and amazing experience is our number one focus.

Cancellations or Changes by NZONE due to Weather: If a skydive is cancelled due to weather, NZONE will endeavor to rebook the Skydive on a suitable alternative date or location. Customers must pay any price difference if changing to an experience of a higher booking value including upgrading to a higher jump height, changing products, packages or skydive locations. Customers will be due a refund if changing to an experience of a lesser booking value. If this is not possible, the customer is able to request a full refund.
